Friday saw Rio 2016 Olympics start with a bang, an incredible opening ceremony and three jam packed days. A highlight for Team GB of course, has to be Adam Peaty and Jazz Carlin winning the first two medals; an impressive gold and silver, not to mention a couple of broken world records in between.
Yesterday the perfomance continued with Men’s Team Gymnastics, an incredible performance landed the Team 4th position, narrowly missing out on the medals, but a great effort none the less. Over in the pool, diving duo Tom Daley and Dan Goodfellow scored brilliantly, to take over Germany and win a Bronze Medal. Team GB’s second bronze came in the form of Ed Ling, trap shooter, who despite a miss at the start, managed to come back shooting all targets.
Their first year at the olympics, the women’s rugby sevens team unfortunatley lost out on a medal, but their success is certainly one to influence many girls and women in Great Britian.
In the rowing, Heather Glover and Heather Stanning are to enter the semi-finals as heat winners, hoping to continue their unbeaten run. Meanwhile, the men’s four look well on track to gaining yet another gold medal.
As we head into day four, there is certainly a lot more action to look forward to! Don’t forget to show your support for Team GB with the official Premium Bahia Bands!
